India :

India is the largest and the oldest civilization in the world. India holds the record of not invading any other country in the last 10,000 years of her history. Sanskrit is one of the earliest known languages in the world, and a member of the Indo-European family of languages, from which most modern European languages have originated. It is the seventh largest country in the world India shares its borders with Pakistan, China, Afghanistan, Myanmar, Bhutan, Nepal and Bangladesh. India lies entirely in the northern and eastern hemispheres. It is the birthplace of four major religions of the world, Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism. Although Hindi and English are the major languages in India, there are 22 official languages.

Itinerary :

 

DAY 01: ARRIVE KOCHI

Upon arrival at Kochi International airport, you will be greeted by our representative followed by transfer to your hotel (rooms will be retained only from 13.00 hrs.) Later in the evening, proceed for the Kathakali dance show. Stay overnight at the hotel.

 

DAY 2: KOCHI

Proceed for the sightseeing tour of Kochi followed by the excursion to Kumbalangi Village. City tour of Kochi will include St. Francis Church, Dutch Palace (closed on Friday), Synagogue (closed on Fridays, Saturdays & Jewish Holidays), Chinese Fishing Nets, Indo Portuguese Museum (closed on Mondays & Public Holiday). Lunch (traditional fare) at Kumbalangi followed by short boat cruise through the serene backwaters, one gets an opportunity to view various local activities such as Veeshu Vala (fishing with conical nets), Padal (fish trapping in coconut tree leaves) etc. Disembark and take a walk through the village and witness crab catching, Fish flipping, clam meat processing, coir making, mat making, net making, Chinese Fishing net etc. Stay overnight at the hotel.

 

DAY 03: KOCHI TO THEKKADY

After breakfast drive to Thekkady (about 110 km / 03 hrs). Take a scenic drive through tea and spice plantations and blue hills and arrive at Periyar. Upon arrival, check in at the Hotel. This afternoon, take a two-hour boat safari on the mist-shrouded lake, which offers excellent opportunities for sporting wildlife, especially herds of elephants. Stay overnight at the hotel. DAY 04: THEKKADY TO KUMARAKOM Morning, tour to the Spice Gardens and later continue drive to Kumarakom and stay 2 nights at Kumarakom. At sunset, boat cruise on Lake Vembanad. Stay overnight at the hotel.

 

DAY 05: KUMRAKOM TO ALLEPPEY BACKWATER CRUISE

Drive to Alleppey for a cruise through the narrow canals and inland waterways, seeing rural life that has remained unchanged for centuries. Stay overnight at the hotel.

 

DAY 06: KUMARAKOM TO KOVALAM

Drive to Kovalam and stay for 3 nights at the hotel. Stay overnight at the hotel.

 

DAY 07 – 08: KOVALAM

Full days at leisure to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings and lavish comfort along with various options of Ayurveda, wellness and spa treatments. Stay overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 09: KOVALAM – TRIVANDRUM-DELHI

Depart Kovalam, in-time transfer from your hotel to the Trivandrum airport to board flight for your onward destination.
